DDMA Chairman Leh reviews Covid-19 arrangements.

Leh: With the arrival of a large number of labourers and tourists in Leh, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chairman, Shrikant Suse today convened a meeting to review the Covid-19 arrangements in Leh district to ensure enhanced surveillance for checking the further spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
DDMA Chairman, Leh, Shrikant Suse, reviewed the status of the Covid Care and Quarantine Centres, the Covid Surveillance team, and the Covid-19 Registration and Testing Points of Leh district. He impressed upon the officials to expedite preparations to check the spike in Covid-19 cases in the Leh district.
He also directed them to issue guidelines to contractors and other agencies that engage labourers, including Border Road Organisation (BRO), to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure that procedure such as RT-PCR tests and quarantine of labourers. He also stated that hotels and guests houses in the Leh district must follow Covid-19 guidelines, or else their hotels would be sealed.
DDMA Chairman Shrikant Suse directed sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) of Leh district to ensure that RT-PCR tests are conducted and a seven-day quarantine period is followed. He stated that strict actions would be taken against people not wearing face masks.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh; Chief Medical Officer, Leh; Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh and District Immunisation Officer, Leh, took part in the meeting.
