LAHDC Leh unanimously decided to adopt the State Emblem of India as the emblem of LAHDC Leh.

Leh : The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson today convened a meeting to discuss the adoption of the State Emblem of India as the emblem of LAHDC Leh. It was unanimously decided to adopt the State Emblem of India as the emblem of LAHDC Leh. 
 
Dy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk ADC Leh, Sonam Chosjor; Executive Councillor for Minority and Horticulture, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor; Executive Councillor for RDD Councillors of LAHDC Leh and Councillors of LAHDC Leh attended the meeting. 
 
An orientation programme on “TB Harega Desh Jeetega” by the District TB Centre, Department of Health, UT Ladakh headed by Director Health, Dr Phuntsog Angchuk, DTO, Dr Tashi Namgyal and officials of DTO Leh took place after the meeting. 
 
DTO Leh, Dr Tashi Namgyal gave a presentation on the Health Department’s initiatives for conducting Active Case Findings in the district. Director Health, Dr Phuntsog Angchuk highlighted the importance of TB screening in the local community and migrant labours. He requested all the Councillors to help them conduct mass awareness campaigns in villages of Leh district.
 
Speaking on the occasion, CEC Gyalson appreciated the Health Department for conducting TB elimination programmes across the district. He hoped for 100% coverage under the programme to achieve the target of eliminating TB by 2025. 
Highlighting the vulnerable situation due to the rise in the numbers of migrant labourers in the district, the leader of Opposition, Tsering Namgyal stressed the need to have a proper regulation from the district administration and the health department to keep a check on the migrant labourers arriving in Leh from across India.
